Rosemont Virginia wines!
Rosemont estate is located way down in La Crosse, Virginia. The Rose family arrived there in 1858 and they have been farming the land (growing vegetables, tending a peach orchard, raising beef and dairy cows, and cash crops such as tobacco, soybeans, and hay) ever since. In 2003 they added wine to their repertoire by planting 32,000 vines. All their wines are estate grown – which is not something every winery in Virginia can claim – and they keep it in the family. Stephan and Chandra Rose manage the farm while their children, Justin and Aubrey, manage the winemaking and marketing respectively. We are keeping with the hybrid theme and featuring the Virgina white and red. Chambourcin in particular can be a bit divisive, but we are fans and in particular, we like what Rosemont can do with it. These are both extremely friendly wines at a fantastic price!
