Beer Spotlight!

The Veil Brewing Company

This past week saw another drop from Richmond’s the Veil Brewing Company, and this time we have been delivered quite the delightful duo!

Current Veil Offerings

The Veil Benjelz

$12.99 for the 16oz four-pack cans
Hoppy Saison

The Benjelz is a Saison made with Pilsner malt, wheat malt, and Spelt malt (and you know our beer ears perk up at the mention of spelt). They then hop it with Citra in the kettle and Galaxy in the whirlpool. Due to the whirlpool hopping (maybe??? — we’re not brewers, just drinkers :D ), the aroma on the Benjelz is gorgeous. The whole thing tastes like a lemon Jolly Rancher with a sublimely long hop finish.

The Veil Toxic Radio

$17.99 for the 16oz four-pack cans
New England Style IPA

The Veil has made this beer in conjunction with Nelson, New Zealand’s Freestyle Hop Research Collective. They’ve given The Veil a new hop to try out that they’re calling New Zealand Manilita. The Veil has paired this trial hop with workhorse hop Citra to see what comes of it. What comes is a super juicy NEIPA with Citra’s herbality right next to a peach-like fruit. It’s a beautiful blend of citrus sharpness and juice.
