Borgo Paglinetto was founded in 2008 on 28 hectares in the Alta Valle dell' Esino, in Matelica, in east central Italy’s Marche region from the merger of two wineries. That put five owners in charge of the new joined entity. Somehow they all got along, bonding over their dedication to organic winemaking and to their beloved Verdicchio grape.

This wine, however, is not their Verdicchio. It is their red, a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and the dark-skinned native variety Lacrima.

Borgo Paglinetto’s Terravignata (“Vineyard Lands”) wines are meant to be balanced and easy going. This rosso is exactly that. It has juicy dark fruits with some herbal notes and is rich and savory.
