Say “Goodbye” to the Ghost of the James!

Three Notch’d Brewing’s long-standing American Pale Ale, which started out its life as the (unfortunately named) Ghost of the 43rd in honor of considerably capably and committed Confederate calvary colonel John Singleton Mosby. However, while Mosby continued fighting even after Lee’s surrender, Three Notch’d’s Ghost has bowed out of their regular lineup to be replaced by a new Hazy IPA.

The Duke of Clouds is an unfiltered IPA made with Citra and Amarillo hops. Though those can be two powerful dukes to put up for a fight, what the brew actually delivers is a couple of mild, citrus love taps with a slight floral fake thrown into the combination. At 5.1% ABV, you don’t even have to worry about being distracted by any fancy footwork. It’s just a straightforward, drinkable IPA.

The Duke of Clouds should go well with any basic pub fare — burgers, wings, pizza, etc., and it won’t knock you out at the end of the night … even if it is strong enough to step in as Ghost gives up the ghost.
