Red Wine of the Week

Andeluna
Raices Malbec

Normally $18.99 /
Now on Sale for $14.96

100% Malbec (Mednoza GI)

How It’s Made:

Andeluna has this to say about their Raices (“Roots”) line. “Our roots are our great base, capitalized by inheritance and history and will remain within our earthly heart throughout our existence, just as it happens to vines.” They grow the grapes for this wine 2600 feet above sea level in rocky, sandy, and calcareous soil.

Why We Like It:

Andeluna’s name is a portmanteau of the moon (luna) and the Andes Mountains, as they are all in on being a winery that makes “mountain wines.” You can taste the effect here, as high elevations can produce fully ripened grapes with significant acidity. Thus, this wine gives you the plummy fruit that you want with a Malbec, balanced with crisp tannins and acid, making this wine a surprisingly bright red.

White Wine of the Week

Stéphane & Vincent Perraud
Domaine des Cognettes
Selection
Muscadet Sèvre Et Maine Sur Lie

Normally $17.99 /
Now on Sale for $15.96
Melon de Bourgogne (Muscadet Sèvre et Maine AOC)

How It’s Made:

Domaine des Cognettes makes this white from hand harvested organic grapes, which they ferment in vitrified underground vats for three to six weeks. They age them on the lees in the same tanks from eight to fourteen months.

Why We Like It:

What’s great about good Muscadet Sèvre et Maines is that they both give you the crisp minerality that you want in addition to depth and character of fruit.

Beer of the Week

Adroit Theory / The Silver
Gatekeeper

Normally $15.99 /
Now on Sale for $14.96 (16 oz can four-pack)
ESB Style Ale (5.0% ABV)

How It’s Made:

In 2021 members of Philadelphia death metal band Horrendous and fellow Philly dark metal band Crypt Sermon got together to form a side project black metal band, The Silver. Adroit Theory’s new head brewer, Mike McCarthy, has collaborated with the band to put out this revamp of Adroit Theory’s popular Doom ESB. Gatekeeper is an ESB-style ale made with British hops for extra head-banging authenticity.

Why We Like It:

It’s a little sweeter and a little richer than a traditional ESB … and we’re so very much okay with that.
