I'm in a New York State of Wine

New York Wines!

New York State is the major U.S. wine region you may not know about it. Though California and Washington State produce the most American wines, New York state is … third. Yes, third. (Virginia is eighth, tied with Vermont and Kentucky. Who knew?)

New York State has two major wine growing regions — the Finger Lakes up around Syracuse and Rochester and the North Folk of Long island. In the Finger Lakes, look for cool climate grapes like Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, and, of course, Riesling. Being warmer, Long Island’s North Fork can support a wider variety of grapes. New York vintners, excitingly enough, are also making wines from local hybrids like Catawba, Seyval Blanc, and Vidal Blanc.

Come join us this Wednesday for a sampling of New York State wines and see what’s going down way up north!
