This Mother’s Day, treat your mother like she’s your Italian mother!

Guest pourer Valentina from Impero Wine will be here with wines mostly from northern Italy’s Langhe region.

Langhe sits east of the Tanaro river and south of Alba — a hilly subregion of northwest Italy’s Piemonte region at the foot of the Alps. In fact, the name Langhe comes from a local word meaning “low-lying hill.” This is the land of Arneis and Vermentino grapes for their whites and Nebbiolo and Dolcetto for their reds and rosatos. It’s the home of some of Italy’s wines that people revere as much as you revere your mother. :) (Actually, we were going to go all “Langhe for Your Mama,” but there’s a sparkling wine from southeast neighbor region Emilia-Romagna that we’ve fallen in love with that we just really had to share with you!)
