It’s Not Crazy to Stay Hazy

It used to be that beer was clear.

It was just understood that part of the brewing process was to filter your lagers and ales until you got a golden or amber beverage (if it wasn’t an opaque style) that you could see through if you bothered to pour it out of its can or bottle … but that time is long gone!

Though there have always been styles that were traditionally unfiltered, today, craft beer has fully embraced letting your brew remain magnificently murky. Not filtering your beers leaves proteins and yeasts in them resulting in the now ubiquitous haze. Doing so can intensify a beer’s aroma and flavor as well as make it more smooth or even creamy in your mouth.

This Thursday, we celebrate the haze with a quartet of unfiltered beers. This is a free, walk-up tasting. We welcome you to join us anytime in the hour and a half.
