Normally $17.99 / Now on Sale for $13.96
100% Pinot Grigio (Colli Euganei DOC)

Pinot Grigio, of course, is grown all over the world, but there are certain conditions that the grape just favors. Pinot Grigio likes cool climates and thrives on hillside exposures that can help it fully ripen. Higher altitudes can contribute to its acid structure adding to its complexity and longevity. For these reasons, Pinot Grigios from Italy’s Veneto region deserve special attention.

The Euganean Hills (Colli Euganei) sit just to the southwest of Padua in Italy’s northeastern Veneto region — just shy of 30 miles from Venice and the Adriatic Coast. The hills appeared some 2,000,000 years ago when the ocean receded from underwater volcanos. The resultant volcanic and calcareous soil imparts a fresh minerality that you can taste even in the region’s reds!

It’s here that enologist Salvatore Lovo grows grapes and makes wines alongside his daughter, Silvia. This Pinot Grigio’s grapes grow in Colli Euganei’s green hills at 300m above sea level, where they thrive in the warm days and cool nights. Their clean, crisp, minerally fruit allows the Lovos to use no oak in their vinification so you can sit right next to this wine’s quiet, acidic freshness.
